"Liberty Tea" - The Tea Of The Revolution
Liberty Teas were brewed to enjoy in place of teas from Britain, during Revolutionary times. This design was created in the year 2007. It is worked on overdyed linen from Lakeside Linens & Designs, Examplar color. It uses overdyed threads from Weeks Dye Works in shades of green, red, blue, brown, grape, and tan.
This design features cross-stitch, backstitch, and Smyrna Cross, and measures 8 1/2"w x 8 5/8"h when worked on 32 count linen.
Liberty Tea inspired an original poem, which reflects the sentiments of the Colonists. It begins: "We'll take no more of British wares." Included with the chart, it can be displayed (as shown) in a matted frame. There are also instructions to finish Liberty Tea as a tea cosy, for practical use and decoration in your home.
