"Liberty Tea" - The Tea Of The Revolution
Liberty Teas were brewed to enjoy in place of teas from Britain, during Revolutionary times. This design is worked on overdyed linen from Lakeside Linens & Designs, Examplar color. It uses overdyed threads from Weeks Dye Works in shades of green, red, blue, brown, grape, and tan.
This design features cross-stitch, backstitch, and Smyrna Cross, and measures 8-1/2"w X 8-5/8"h when worked on 32 count linen.
Liberty Tea inspired an original poem, which reflects the sentiments of the Colonists. It begins: "We'll take no more of British wares." Included with the chart, it can be displayed (as shown) in a matted frame. There are also instructions to finish Liberty Tea as a tea cosy, for practical use and decoration in your home.
